There’s nothing quite like enjoying a cold drink in a sunny beer garden after a day exploring the local area. Fortunately, guests staying at Bridleways are spoilt for choice when it comes to welcoming pubs and beer gardens. Here are some of our favourite spots within easy reach of the guest house.

The Dog & Duck, Kings Clipstone.

Just a few minutes from Bridleways, The Dog & Duck is a popular local pub with a spacious outdoor seating area that comes alive on sunny days. The relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for families, couples and groups of friends looking to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

Its location in the heart of Kings Clipstone also makes it a convenient stop if you’re exploring the historic area around King John’s Palace.

Royal Oak, Edwinstowe.

Located in the centre of Edwinstowe, the Royal Oak is one of the village’s best-known pubs. With outdoor seating and a lively atmosphere, it’s a great place to watch village life go by while enjoying a drink or a meal.

After visiting the famous Major Oak or browsing the independent shops in the village, many visitors choose to settle here for a leisurely afternoon in the sunshine.

The Rose Cottage, Rufford.

Nestled close to Rufford Abbey Country Park, The Rose Cottage offers a lovely countryside setting and a welcoming outdoor area. It’s a particularly good choice if you’re spending the day exploring Rufford’s gardens, lake and woodland walks.

The Lansbury, Edwinstowe.

For those looking for something a little more contemporary, The Lansbury combines stylish dining with outdoor seating in the heart of Edwinstowe. It’s an excellent choice for an evening meal or a few drinks after a day exploring Sherwood Forest.

The location means you’re just a short stroll from many of the village’s attractions and local events.

The Greendale Oak, Cuckney.

A short drive north of Sherwood Forest, The Greendale Oak is located within the beautiful Welbeck Estate, one of Nottinghamshire’s most historic country estates. Surrounded by rolling countryside and ancient woodland, it offers a spacious outdoor seating area that’s perfect for enjoying a drink on a warm afternoon.

The pub is particularly popular during the summer months, when visitors can relax outside after exploring nearby attractions such as Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park and the estate’s walking trails.

The Fox at Kirton.

For guests who enjoy discovering traditional village pubs, The Fox at Kirton is a fantastic option. With a welcoming atmosphere and outdoor seating, it offers a quieter alternative to some of the busier venues in the area.

Its charming rural location makes it perfect for a relaxing summer evening.
