1. Sherwood Pines Forest Park
Just a 10-minute drive from Bridleways, Sherwood Pines is one of the most popular cycling destinations in the area. With trails ranging from family-friendly routes to more adventurous mountain biking tracks, there is something for everyone. Cycle hire is available on site, making it easy for guests who may not have brought their own bikes.
2. Clumber Park
Managed by the National Trust. Clumber Park offers over 20 miles of cycle paths that wind through beautiful parkland, woodland, and around the lake. It’s an ideal choice for a leisurely day out with a picnic. There are also cafés and a visitor centre to explore.
3. Vicar Water Country Park
Located close to Bridleways, this smaller park is perfect for a relaxed ride. With woodland trails, open spaces, and a lovely lake at its heart. Vicar Water offers a quieter alternative to the larger parks.
4. The National Cycle Network (Route 6)
Route 6 of the National Cycle Network passes near Mansfield. The route provides a more extensive path for those wanting to venture further afield. This well-marked route connects a number of towns and natural areas, giving cyclists the chance to experience more of Nottinghamshire at their own pace.
